Welcome to the new Illustrative Mathematics blog!

In continually moving forward with our vision of creating a world where learners know, use and enjoy mathematics, the Illustrative Mathematics team is so excited to announce the launch of our official blog!

Our blog will be a space where our math community of learners can focus on improving the teaching and learning of mathematics. We’ll feature posts from the authors of the Illustrative Mathematics 6-8 Math curriculum (and forthcoming HS curriculum!) and from teachers, coaches and administrators in our community sharing their school and classroom experiences. We envision the blog as a place for all to engage in productive discourse and pose questions that help push and support one another’s thinking.

Each month the blog will have a different theme. For example, this month you can look forward to learning more about an important instructional planning structure. These posts will have videos, first-hand accounts from teachers and coaches, and resources to support implementing this planning structure in your own practice.

To nurture a continuous conversation, we invite you to subscribe to our blog, engage in discussions in the comments section, and share the pieces that impact your work. Have a topic you would like to see featured? Post it in the comments below! We look forward to fostering a space where we can work together to create a world where all learners, including ourselves, can know, use and enjoy mathematics in a meaningful way.
